• Daytime Costumes Contest:
The majority of the END of TRAIL costume contests will take place during the day on Thursday and Friday, June 23rd and 24th, 2010. Daytime shooting costume categories are Male, Female, and Juniors. Daytime Costumes will be judged by a panel of judges. Regardless of which shooting relay you are on, you should have ample time to participate. You do not have to pre-register. Just show up at the designated times and sign in at the Gem Saloon. Awards, from 1st to 3rd place, will be given Saturday, June 25th at 8:30 PM in the Belle Union Saloon.
• Best Dressed Conventioneers:
Conventioneers receive their own awards and are judged at the same times as the Daytime Costume Contests. No pre-registration is required. Just show up and sign in at the Gem Saloon. Awards will be given to best-dressed male, female, and junior Conventioneer, first place only, at 8:30 PM, Saturday, June 25th in the Belle Union Saloon.
• Waddie Costume Award:
How could we ever run a successful END of TRAIL without the hard work of these volunteers? Therefore, they should have a Waddie Costume Award! We will give a Waddie Shooting Costume Award to a male and female waddie, first place only, on Saturday, June 25th at 8:30 PM in the Belle Union Saloon. However, as a waddie, you need to take a break from your duties and come to the Gem Saloon to be judged during the day from 11 AM - 1 PM, Thursday, June 23th, or Friday, June 24th 10:30 AM – 12:30 PM.
• Best Guncart:
Bring your guncart to the Gem Saloon for judging Thursday June 23th between 11 AM and 1 PM or Friday, June 24th from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM. Awards will be given from 1st to 3rd place on Saturday, June 25th, at 8:30 PM in the Belle Union Saloon.
• Best Dressed Sutler/Best Sutler Display:
Sutlers need to spend their time selling their goods. They are not expected to leave their booths to participate in a costume contest. Yet, we want to recognize the Best Dressed Male and Female Sutler. So, our judges will be roaming Sutlers’ Row taking photos during the event. These awards will be presented at 8:30 PM on Saturday, June 25th in the Belle Union Saloon
8:15 PM - 9:15 PM Soiled Doves/Parlour House Madams at the BELLE UNION SALOON
No pre-registration is required, but you must be a SASS member, and you must be at the Belle Union by 7:30 PM to sign up and participate. Costumes must be era-appropriate. Soiled Dove costumes should reflect the spirit of the “Cheyenne Social Club” and may portray a bordello working girl or a society prostitute. Parlour House Madam costumes should reflect the “older, but wiser businesswoman” of the era — the proprietress or manager of the “salon.” Awards will be given from 1st to 3rd place in each category that evening immediately after the judging by a panel of judges.
