Well sometimes the best laid plans of mice and men oft gang aglay.

Life happens and a major life changing event has come upon me. No worries, it is a very good thing for this ole dog.

But I will miss my first TX WB Champeenship this year. I know y'all will have a large time without me and I should be there next year.

Best part is I am moving and will hopefully be able to make it to CVV WB shoots more than the once a year.

Moving from the Panhandle to Bonham, but it will for sure take the better part of the summer to accomplish. Happy trails pards.

LD,  sounds like you got your summer planned out with the move. we will miss ya but if you see yourself in the area that weekend stop by and say HOWDY anyway............... or drop in and shoot some side matches!  dusty

Actually I have re-connected with an old flame from the days of free love and nickel beer. Tonite I will find out if I can still saddle up and ride. Maybe not so much as back then when I was known as the Midnite Rider...

So, it won't be "Lone" Dog, any more. More like "Lucky" Dog.

ROUND COUNT FOR THE TEXAS STATE WB MATCH  looks like for the main match 225 pistol, 84 rifle and 60 shotgun shells.
SIDE MATCHES this is if you play for keeps you will need 100 pistol, 30 rifle and 3 boxes of shotshells. IFyou plan on shooting the team shotgun more than once then you need more shells so figure a box for however many times you want to compete. BAMM matches 20 rounds lead only, twisted pistol (the long range ,speed pistol match) 5 rounds. So playing it all in good fashion looks like 599 rounds plus your extra shotgun shells. YEEHAW!!!!! ;D ;D ;D   Dusty Boddams

This looks like some good shooting!  I'm hoping that my plans work out to make this match.

What color are rifle and pistol targets?

howdy GS,!  good to hear your gonna try and make the state match. all the targets are white or black. BAMM match targets are yellow for the side match. this looks like it is shaping up to be a really fun match.   dusty boddams

Wish I was going to be there, but my wrist says I'm not ready yet. :(

Great Scenarios at the 2014 TEXAS SASS Wild Bunch State Championship

Thanks to all who worked tirelessly to make this match another success.  What great hosts are these cowboys and cowgirls at the Comanche Valley/Lone Star Frontier Shooting Club.  The scenarios were challenging without being overpowering.  I'm already looking forward to the 2015 Texas State Championship!

I have a BAM rifle (Mosin Nagant) but hadn't acquired the bullets for reloading.  Last night I successfully bid on a National Ordance 03A3 on gunbroker.  I'll order 30-06 brass, and bullets for both and be ready in a couple or three weeks to sight in.

Hopefully at least one will shoot like your super smooth Mauser.  That is a quality rifle!
