I probably wasn't detailed enough on type of ammo. These are milsurp 147g copper clad steel bullets. I think they are OK on some steel as long as its out there a ways but I wouldn't want to put dents or holes in targets. What will the distance(s) be at WRWB? kR

Reference Evil Roy's statement from the original post.

"For this match you can shoot fmj ammo.  I am bringing targets which will withstand the hits."

I read what he wrote. However there is a difference between fmj ammo and the Russian milspec which is copper clad steel. I just want to make sure I will not damage the targets. kR

KR, maybe ER or GOATNECK will chime in but I think if a magnet attracts they probably will not allow it. As evil Roy said fmjs are fine on his targets steel core I would think not so much.  Dusty

We shot Russian surplus ammo at them at 85 yards at EOT without damage.  I will go out and check but I do believe they were steel core.  I will check.  These targets are Action armor plate set at 45 degrees.  We will shoot them at 100, 125 and 150 yards.  I would prefer they were not steel core but again I will check.  The targets are pretty tough.

My Russian ammo did not hurt the angles Action Targets.  The are armor plate and angles 45 degrees.  I am pretty sure it is bi metal bullets.  They are the only ammo I could find for the rifle in June.

Ken Griner our gunsmith checked some of the ammo I had given him which we had used at EOT.  It does attract a magnet so it is steel core.  We had no problem with the ammo as far as the Action angled targets we used so they will be allowed.  It is what I will be bring for loaner ammo for the loaner Nagant.

I will try to get Sunshine to do an Email blast on what we are doing so it gets to all signs ups.  Call me if you have a question.  970 903-8044.

Hi Evil Roy,
You can put me down for help on the Monday afternoon with Union Jack if that's not a problem.
I don't have a rifle but will pay the fees if someone can give me a lend of one. :D
Haven't shot one of those since my army days back in 1967??? :-[
Regards
Jack
