Logans Ferry Regulators Wild Bunch Match, 03/26/16
« on: February 12, 2016, 10:08:20 AM »
The Logans Ferry Regulators will be holding a Wild Bunch Action Shooting Match, on Saturday, March 26th, 2016.  We are located in Plum, Pennsylvania, just northeast of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.  We will have a total of six stages prepared for the match, but can alter the match down to four stages, depending upon shooter participation.

We will be officiating the match using SASS WBAS Rules and procedures, so make sure you read through the rules ahead of time.  We will also offer an "Open Category", for shooters who do not have the proper rifle (.40 caliber or above), or shotgun ( 12 Gauge, Winchester 97, Winchester 93/97, Winchester Model 12)...shooters must use a SASS/CAS main match legal rifle and any pump action shotgun.  "Open Category" shooters will not be scored in the main match results.

Registration for the match will be from 8:00 AM through 9:15 AM, followed by a mandatory shooters safety meeting at 9:30 AM.  Entry fee for the match is $15.00, and Buckaroos/Buckarettes shoot for free.  We look forward to seeing all of our old friends, and hope to meet some new friends as well, so, join us for the finest Wild Bunch Action Shooting Match in Southwestern Pennsylvania.

A little over a month to go, and we can get in our first WBAS Match of the 2016 Season here in Southwestern Pennsylvania.  So far, the long range weather forecasts are looking good, and I'll keep on checking them as the date gets closer.

Thanks for the compliment Dusty Boddams, that was from our first WBAS Match at Logans Ferry Regulators, about three years ago.

Just a note for folks who will be attending, the water is not turned on yet at the range clubhouse.  We will have a few 5-gallon containers of water on hand, but try to remember to bring along some bottled water to keep in your guncart, as we won't be able to fill the stage coolers.  I'm going to be bringing along a case of bottled water, in case anybody needs some.

Latest forecast from The Weather Channel calls for sunny skies, and a high temperature of 61 degrees for our WBAS Match this Saturday.  Therefore, there's no excuses, break out those guns, and come down and do some shootin' with the Logan's Ferry Regulators!

Just two days now till our first match of the season at the Logan's Ferry Regulators.  The latest weather forecast is for mostly sunny, and temps in the low 60's, perfect weather to shoot in.

This will be a Wild Bunch Action Shooting Match, so there will be lots of shooting and movement involved.  If you love to shoot Wild Bunch, then this is the match you've been waiting for.  If you've had an interest in Wild Bunch Action Shooting, come on out and see what it's all about.

Our first scheduled Cowboy Action Shooting Match will take place on Saturday, April 9th.  The match will have stages based from the 1993 Cowboy Classic, "Tombstone".

24 hours to go until we kick off the 2016 shooting season at the Logan's Ferry Regulators.  We'll be shooting a total of six stages for the match, so make sure you're ready to have some fast paced shooting fun.

For those who may be interested in attending, but don't have all the required gear, we will be offering an "Open" class for the match.  "Open" class shooters can use 1911 pistols that may not meet the required guidelines (i.e. barrel lengths that aren't long enough, improper sights, etc.), shooters can use any SASS main match rifle, shooters can use any 12 gauge pump-action shotgun.  So, bring what you've got, and have some fun.

Our parent club has not turned on the running water at the range buildings yet, so please, remember to bring along something to drink.  Also, don't forget to pack a lunch for yourself.

We do hope to see some new shooters at the match, as all are welcome, and we promise that you'll have a fun time.

Well, it's all over now, and we did have some fun today.  A big thank you to all of our shooters, and a very big thank you to Rowdy Bovine, for all the help with setup and tear down...couldn't have done it without you.

We're going to try to put on at least one more Wild Bunch Action Shooting match this season, if not two.  So, if you missed all the fun today, don't miss our next one.
