SASS in 2011

2011 is a landmark year for the Single Action Shooting Society and its yearly World Championship, End of Trail. Starting the year off with just over 90000 members worldwide and a whopping 600+ affiliated clubs around the globe including over 15 foreign countries, 2011 is certain to be great year for the sport of Cowboy Action Shooting. Members of local clubs all over the world are shaking off their dusters and shining their six guns as the weather warms and allows for monthly Cowboy Action Shooting matches to resume.

April will bring Buffalo Stampede, the SASS Four Corners Regional Championship to Founders Ranch in Edgewood. Largely hailed as a preview to End of Trail, it will attract competitors from all around the four corners area. If you have ever had a curiosity about SASS Mounted Shooting, Cowboy Action Shooting or SASS, we invite you to come on out and see what it’s all about! This smaller, more intimate match is open to the public free of charge. April 13-17.

June is time for the granddaddy of ‘em all, End of Trail.  Named “Best of the City” by Albuquerque the Magazine in 2010, this is the one you don’t want to miss! 2011 marks the 30th Anniversary of End of Trail, and competitor entries are flooding in to SASS headquarters. SASS expects a complete sell-out toppling over 800 shooters and 1200 registered attendees from all over the world. End of Trail offers a plethora of entertainment and things to do for the whole family. In addition to being the World Championship of Cowboy Action Shooting, SASS Wild Bunch Shooting and SASS Mounted Shooting, End of Trail is surrounded by a 3 day festival celebrating everything Old West. The greatest in entertainment, vendors, activities, historic encampments, and exhibitions are served up daily. Public dates are June 24-26. Admission is $8, children 12 and under enter for free. Current SASS Members enter at a discounted price. Entry discount coupons are available.

SASS’ Fall event, Outlaw Trail is proud to announce the addition of a first annual SASS Friends of the NRA Banquet. Camaraderie and competition bring the best together for this fun, no frills shooting match. This event closes with a first ever SASS Friends of the NRA Banquet on Saturday, October 1st at Founders Ranch. A banquet pre-raffle has already begun for the last unsold pair of Ruger Vaquero Revolvers, NRA 2009 Gun of the Year. Raffle tickets are available through SASS Headquarters. We hope you’ll consider joining us for what is sure to be a fantastic evening to benefit the NRA Foundation. Entry to Outlaw Trail is free, tickets to the Friends of the NRA Banquet are available through SASS Headquarters.
