    WR Not Going Update

Well, sure, if you have to stay home and take care of that old man. The buckaroo category won't be the same without ya!

    Selling guns at WR

Not sure if this is correct, but I heard years ago that an FFL is required if a gun to be worked on is to be left in your possession overnight.

    Ejection Problem

I can't say for sure on yours, and not all short stroke kits are the same, but I do know that for a Cowboy and Indian SS kit, the stock Uberti brass carrier needs to be opened up some inside where the wider front section narrows, as shown here: http://cowboysandindianstore.com/pdf/Brass_carrier_fitting_instructions.pdf

    Quieting new holster rig (creaking)...

My 20 year old Mernickle rig still creaks a lot. With earplugs in, I don't hear that nor my Jingle-bobs.

    Six Shooters, Inc.

Loose Cannon Lou's business was "Six Shooters" I think back when he had an FFL and was doing action jobs, but I think he quit that 8 or 10 years ago? So I doubt it is him, unless you were looking for something from the past.

    1858 Conversion questions

I think Dave was saying that a brass frame Remington will hold up longer than a brass framed Colt-style (opentop) gun.

    1858 Conversion questions

As long as the gun started out as a handgun and remains a handgun, I believe there is no limit to barrel length. If you couldn't find the Uberti barrel from the revolving carbine, maybe you could find a barrel from that Bison revolver and put it on a steel frame Pietta. If not listed on VTIgunparts.com, I would call EMF and ask as they are owned by Pietta.

    1858 Conversion questions

A quick Google image search turned up a few pics of an A.S.M. (Armi San Marcos, which is defunct) steel frame buntline, likely be hard to find one of those. And I found this old ad, but not sure who the manufacture was: https://www.gunsamerica.com/976735202/Remington-1858-Buntline-44-Cal.htm You could buy an Uberti '58 Revolving carbine (16" barrel) and bolt on a gripframe (if it fit?), but that might run afoul of BATFE regs. If you could find one of those barrels as a spare part, you could bolt it to any Uberti '58.

    Uberti Cattleman .357 Trigger Woe

Be sure you are using the pad of your finger on the trigger. There are wider triggers available for Piettas, but I'm not sure about Uberti, except they make wide ones for stainless guns. Possibly that would work or the Pietta could be fitted, or possibly a gunsmith could widen yours like they do with hammers. Also, there is a kind of "trigger bite" that can happen when the trigger breaks caused by improper sear angles or something like that. Are your Cattleman the new style with the retractable firing pin safety?

Converting a Uberti 1860 Henry from 44-40 to 44 special, how?

For the first suggestion, this is a Henry he's talking about, so not able to do that like other rifles with a separate barrel and magazine. For the second one, Uberti made a small handfull of 44 Spcl Henrys a number of years ago, but none since and no spare barrels. Nimble, I believe you that it was done to your '92, just seems like a compromise to both calibers, but then you are the one with the experience.

Converting a Uberti 1860 Henry from 44-40 to 44 special, how?

Disclaimer: I'm not a gunsmith. I am going to say no choices to do it with a good chamber for both cartridges. The best would be to sleeve the chamber to .44 Spcl which would allow the Spcl, Colt, and Russian (with a modified carrier). But that eliminates 44-40. I know of one person who shoots 44 Russian in a 44-40 Henry and gets away it, although it bulges out his brass. Think about it, the bottom end of a 44-40 is about the same size as a .45. If you ream enough of the chamber shoulder to allow a 44 Spcl to fit then you will end up with odd-looking brass in both calibers.

    Blown revolvers

Goody, it popped up in the middle of this blown revolver discussion. I agree with others that APP didn't blow up the guns. Somehow, some way, smokeless got loaded.

    Blown revolvers

Chance, have you pulled any bullets yet from that batch of ammo?
