    End of Trail

Hi John Wesley Hardin, I am thrilled that you are considering making your way to END of TRAIL! Registration for EOT will open January 1, 2019. There is an early registration discount if you register before April 1. EOT has the ability to host close to 1200 shooters, so- we simply don't "sell out". I have been working on the 'bones' of the EOT schedule and I posted it on the website a couple of days ago. Click here for a link to the EOT Schedule In summary: Monday/Tuesday June 17-18: Cowboy Warm Up match days Wednesday June 19: Side Match Day Thursday/Friday/Saturday, June 20-21-22: Cowboy Main Match Sunday, June 23: Top Gun shoot off and Awards ceremony As far as camping goes, EOT does offer dry camping on Founders Ranch for $50 for the entire event. We also arrange water and dumping service directly to your RV for an additional charge on an as needed/scheduled basis. If you're not a fan of dry camping, there are several RV parks with full hook-ups pretty close to Founders Ranch. Again- there are great resources for lodging located on the SASS Website! Here is a direct link to the lodging page: Click here for a direct link to the EOT lodging page As far as entertainment, there are a multitude of activities in the area. Ok, ok... maybe not so much in Edgewood/East Mountains area itself, but in about an hours' drive, you can visit some truly amazing sights. To list a few: Santa Fe Plaza Sandia Crest Tramway Kasha Katuwe tent rocks Shopping & dining Casinos Albuquerque Old Town ABQ Zoo & Biopark If you'd like to explore a little more of what New Mexico has to offer, you can visit: https://www.newmexico.org/ I hope this helps- if there's anything we can do here at SASS HQ to help make your trip to END of TRAIL and to the beautiful state of New Mexico a great one- just let us know! I look forward to seeing you at END of TRAIL! Misty Moonshine

A note to all Forum Users: The goal of the SASS Wire Forums is to provide a fun and resourceful place that users can come and discuss topics in regards to SASS and Cowboy Action Shooting. We also want to celebrate free exchange of information and conversation, and realize that "spirited" discussion can happen at times when the subject matter is one that we feel passionately about. It can be a challenge to express ideas and opinions in the written word and nearly impossible to judge intent of the manner of which it is intended. Please keep that in mind when posting on the forums- be considerate of the challenges we all face when trying to communicate on the SASS Wire. We are not looking to curtail expression- everyone has their opinions and are entitled to them. We want to make sure that everyone is able to participate fully and express themselves without fear of ridicule. There IS a difference between a debate and an argument. Arguments are disrespectful and will not be tolerated. Treating each other with respect is paramount. Please be considerate of the challenges that we all face when trying to communicate on the SASS Wire. Please refer to the following excerpt from the Guidelines: Inappropriate or offensive content and disruptive behavior will not be tolerated. To assist in defining inappropriate content, ask yourself the following questions when making a post: - Is this message SASS-related? (with the exception of the Saloon forum) - Is this message something most members would like to read? - Does this message add value to the forum? - Is this something I would say to a person face-to-face? *If you cannot answer yes to all of these questions, please reconsider posting your message. IGNORE FEATURE TIP: If you find there is a forum user that you no longer wish to see posts from,-regardless of the reason, there is a feature built in to the SASS Wire Forums that allows you to "IGNORE" a User. There are a few ways this can be accomplished. You can either hover over the member's icon that you wish to ignore and a "Ignore" option will come up- taking you to your Ignored Users page within YOUR account. This is where you can manage the content you see within the Forums. You can also arrive at your Ignored Users page within your account by clicking on the down arrow next to your name/account info in the top right corner and select "Ignored Users". This is similar to "unfollowing" someone in Facebook. Thank you, Misty Moonshine & the SASS Wire Moderating Team

    Loading Black Powder Cartridges

The new terms and guidelines that went into effect in January 2018 do not disallow posting load data. Each user agrees to those terms. All posts are the sole opinion of the poster, should be taken with care and caution- and in no way reflect the opinion or official position of SASS. Load data had been prohibited for so long, its taking folks a bit of time to understand that it is now allowed. Thanks again, Misty Moonshine

    Loading Black Powder Cartridges

Hello Turkey Jack Flats, You were misinformed. This is an obstacle we continue to encounter since the introduction of the new user terms and guidelines in Jan. 2018. The new terms and guidelines that went into effect in January 2018 do not disallow posting load data. Each user agrees to those terms. All posts are the sole opinion of the poster, should be taken with care and caution- and in no way reflect the opinion or official position of SASS. Quite the contrary- we firmly believe that reloading and the data associated with it- presented by experienced reloaders- can be an excellent resource to their fellow shooters and to those hoping to learn about the process. As someone who had to go trial by fire, quite literally, to figure it all out when I started reloading, I would've been super grateful to be able to garner the advice of my fellow shooters on the topic. Load data had been prohibited for so long, its taking folks a bit of time to understand that it is now allowed. Thanks again, Misty Moonshine

    SOLD! 1866 Yellowboy - .38 :)

Hi everyone, This is a sweetheart of a rifle that has never let me down. Not alot of rounds put through her because I usually dont get to shoot quite as much as I'd like to! Even so, the rifle does have a few nicks here and there from the occasional rough discard during a shooting stage! I purchased the rifle new from Cimarron F.A.C. about 4 years ago and she has served me very well. The only reason I am looking to sell it is to offset the cost of moving to a '73. The rifle went immediately upon purchase to Shotgun Boogie for action work- so, it is also "Boogie-fied"... and everyone and anyone who has ever cycled it or shot it (I share my guns with folks from time to time as we all do!) has "oooh-d and aaawed" over the action on it. I'm asking $1000 OBO. Pictures posted below. If I can answer any questions, let me know. Misty Moonshine
  8. Misty,

I know a new RO II course is on its way, and thank you for the new RO I course.  Where can I find the old RO II materials now?  I can’t find them on the wire, so I must be looking in the wrong place.

    Q&A on New Forum Software

There are no "techs" to hold out hope to see this and answer or fix. We don't have tech's.... our hosting service doesn't monitor our wire forums. All they do is maintain the software and keep it safe; installing upgrades, etc. The only way to get changes made is through SASS HQ- we communicate to the hosting service and do what we can to facilitate the request. I will have to contact them and ask them about Post #'s. If we can add them back, we will- but please understand that they are not software developers. Will do the best we can. As Allie mentioned on another post... I cant read every thread or post either... if there is something like this that comes up - don't just "hope" I happen to see it. Please reach out to me directly at [email protected] Misty Moonshine

Hello Everyone! First off, thank you all so much for your time and for volunteering to help "man the booth"! At the Great American Outdoor Show. I need to impose a deadline for any potential volunteers to get signed up so that I can make sure I have plenty of time to order exhibitor badges and parking passes for everyone- AND, to have enough time to get those mailed out to each of you before the show. The deadline to sign up to volunteer to help is Thursday, January 5th, 2017. If you are still on the fence about volunteering, please get signed up before this date. This is the only way I can guarantee I can get you an exhibitor badge (credentials for entry) and a parking pass! Here is the link to the sign up module: http://www.signupgenius.com/go/9040f4da4ae2ca02-thegreat1 I've been pulling Volunteers names off of the sign up module, and if you've signed up already- THANK YOU! Once I receive all of the badges and parking passes from the show, I will send them to you- and I will include important information about the show. I look forward to seeing you all there!
