I've made hardtack following Civil War regulations. It's.....different. Tastes fine as long as you suck on it. Don't ever bite it. I think you could use it as body armor.

Yeah, I think so! There's a video out there of a guy that actually eats some from the 1860's. He said it tasted like mothballs smell.
Ewwwwww....

I've been told I'd make a good bartender.

Wonder what they meant by that.....?

I enjoyed this one quite a bit Santee. Then again I like costuming in general and being as accurate as possible.

That looked both miserably hot and like a great time.

And you did get to see Val Kilmer!

I'd like to see them make a good western like Tombstone near where I live so that I can go watch them shoot and maybe get to be an extra...

That's a great tip! I got my Stetson from a pard I shoot with. Cost me a 10 spot but that's fine by me. I cleaned it up, had it reshaped, and put a new sweatband it in and it's been good ever since. Nice and comfortable to wear even on the hottest of days despite being a felt hat.

I see all kinds of hats at garage and estate sales, there's lots to be had at second hand stores and antique stores as well. Those are also a good place to look for accessories and other bits and bobbles.

Yeah that's one aspect of the old west that I'd rather not participate in. I'm happy taking a daily shower.
