Mail box monster

Recommended Posts

So years ago I had a bunch of the curved lanscape stones I used as a border around a tree.  I removed the border and reused the stoned to build a unique mailbox.  Worked great for years and then I replaced the metal box portion after it was injured due to an assault by what may have been a baseball bat.

Fast forward til now and for the last few months I have had holes in my mail some days.  looks like something is eating holes through the mail.  Some will be perfectly round and others are oval  or more extended.  No clue what it is, but something is eating my mail!

Well I didn't really care, most of the mail is junk, but last week I got a check and it was eaten through the numbers. . . .

A partial tube of silicone to seal all the holes and the beasty is now unable to reach my mail.

Thought it was weird enough to share with you all.

WOW.  If your mail is only in there for a day, something must be pretty hungry to eat through it in that short a period of time.

Roaches. Nuke it from orbit, only way to be sure.

Gremlins, by golly.  They're everywhere.  Tell Trump and he'll get rid of 'em for you.

It could be the RUSSIANS!

 { They're into everything these days! }

Or perhaps leaf beetles, they absolutely love to chew on paper

Roaches and silverfish eat glue, not paper.  I'd bet on carpenter ants.

If it is an insect, this will fix it:

Dust the inside with boric acid to start. Then spread diatomaceous earth on the ground 6' all around.

I sealed the box with silicone caulk last week, so far no return of the mail monster.  The holes looked like someone used a hole punch at times and at other times the looked like a track.  It was actually amusing until they ate a check.

Chupacabra.  Another reason we need "the wall".

"Mail box monster"

Just mail... NONE of it is important... includin' your gov'ment scammin' checks... J Mark.  hehehehehe

The one flaw that my horse has... he goes friggin' nuts when he sees a dam mailbox.  Sure got to hold on when it happens.... just glad I don't ride on roads much.  But sometimes ya got to cross roads.  On Utah Bob's road in Colorado... County Line (or whatever the name of the road), Cowboy tossed me off twice onto gravel-like stuff.  Now... one of my infections is in my elbow... and from one of them penetratin' rocks in my arm.  This staph-infection crap is a hard pull to get past.

Not worried... but sawbones have tole me that it can kill ya.  Still... not worried.  I got one more last-resort option... chemo.
